Certification of the shot proof equipment is carried out within the limits of certification in system of GOST R
The shot proof equipment intended for explosive environments (the Ex-equipment, the system — an item which is in full or in part applied to use of electric energy and including one or more kinds of shot proof components for conditions, potentially explosive gas environment) is liable to obligatory certification.
The shot proof electric equipment (Ex-equipment) is subdivided into groups:
I. the mine shot proof electric equipment intended for application in underground developments of mines, pits and in their ground structures dangerous because of the firedamp and (or) a combustible dust;
II. a shot proof electric equipment for the internal and outside installation, intended for potentially explosive environments, except underground developments of mines and pits and their ground structures dangerous because of the firedamp and (or) a combustible dust.
Following kinds of equipment applies to the shot proof equipment:
- Arrangements for development, transfer, distribution, storage, measurement,
- regulation, transformation and consumption of electricity;
- Electric telecommunication equipment;
- The items applied in explosive zones that can be an ignition source.
For certification of the Ex-equipment the applicant grants a package of the technical and performing documentation (the operation manual, drawings and schemes). At Ex-equipment certification are applied 1а, 3а, 5, 7 and 8 certification schemes.
The Ex-equipment certification provides fulfillment of the following procedures:
1. Filing and consideration of the application for certification realization;
2. Filing and consideration of the declaration of conformity of the Ex-equipment to appointment indicators;
3. Decision-making under the application for realization of certification of products, including a choice of the scheme of certification;
4. An expert examination of engineering documentation;
5. Sampling for tests;
6. Identification of samples;
7. An estimation of a design and test of samples, registration of protocols of estimation and tests;
8. An estimation of production or certification of system of quality (production) if it is provided by the certification scheme;
9. The analysis of the received results and decision-making on issue (or about failure in issue) the conformity certificate;
10. Issuance of the certificate of conformity;
11. Realization of the inspection control of certificated production (according to the applied scheme of certification);
12. Correcting actions at revealing of discrepancy of the Ex-equipment to the established requests and at wrong application of a sign of conformity;
13. Granting of the information on results of certification.
The inspection control of the Eh-equipment is made at certification on a batch production and is carried out by the expert organization, conducting certification of the equipment.
The certification scheme is advanced by the certification body, proceeding from potential danger of the Ex-equipment and conditions of its application with allowance for offers of the Applicant.

Voluntary certification
For this kind of certification the appliance will define the necessary parameters for testing production. This certificate guarantee the quality of the production, support image of a company and create positive attitude to product.
